On Friday July 4th, we are once again lending our services to a charity well worth supporting. Come down and say hi at the annual Duck Race at World’s Fair Park in Knoxville, Tennessee!
Every year, donors ‘adopt a duck’, and then gather at World’s Fair Park to watch 40000 rubber ducks in a bright yellow race to the finish line for one lucky person’s chance to win $10000. It’s a fun day, and all of the money raised goes to a great cause!
The Boys & Girls Club of Tennessee Valley provides valuable services to children and youth in our area, including everything from after-school care to leadership development and anger management programs. We are truly happy to support such an amazing organization!
If you didn’t already know, ‘Give Back’ is one of our core values, and we support a number of charities that we think are doing a great job of making the world a better place! We’ve been helping out at the Duck Race since 2008, and we are looking forward to being part of another great race.
Now, you may be wondering how the numbers get on the bottom of 40000 rubber ducks? The answer is: by hand, one by one! That’s right, about a week before the big race goes down, the team of incredible volunteers gets together for their “Tagging Party”, where each of the ducks gets tagged with it’s racing number. We join the party by doing what we do best – playing music! A big job becomes a lot easier with some motivating tunes – and trust me, tagging 40000 ducks is a BIG job.
Then, on the big day, Knox Vegas DJs will be there to get the crowd smiling and provide music and entertainment before, during and after the big race. We would love to see you there – but first, adopt a duck! Click here
